i believe in spring.
as spring settles in i am realizing what a profound belief i have in the cycles of the natural world.
this past winter solstice brought me to the feeling of "being at home in my life"
and this springs equinox has sent my life a'flutter!
i watched our first butterflies hatch on the same day we became industrious little ants at my house moving ourselves and our things here and there and up and down the hill
taking our first swings of sledgehammers to the old barn we are going to be rebuilding in the coming months
it felt so poignant and like a deep affirmation to be embracing spring along with the daffodils and forsythia, red buds and bird calls. it's the big push- building nests and gardens before the eggs can hatch and the sprouts finally emerge!
and like so many animals this time of year, i am making mini-migrations each week.
i'm spending the working week out at Penland School of Crafts- assisting a beautiful bunch of weavers as they blossom- and heading home on the weekends to help with all the hubub happening at my house!
we dug our garden last weekend.
and are pulling old fence and putting new fence up.
and are finalizing decisions on the various flock, fowl and bovine we'll be welcoming into our family oh so very very soon!!
i hope that all of you are finding the blossoming of spring in your own little necks of the woods...
